How Good is WordPress? 9 WordPress Alternatives
How Good is WordPress? I love it but it is good to keep your eyes open …
I came across this list and it is worth taking a look at and seeing the alternatives.
9 WordPress Alternatives - Mitchelaneous
Drupal - Drupal is a little more of a WordPress on steroids. Lots of goodies and better membership system in place too.
AJAXPress - A little buggy by looking at the demo but will become a better idea once it has had more time to get polished.
Textpattern - Flexable and open source blogging solution - much of the same WordPress look and feel.
Serendipity - This is a PHP-powered weblog application which gives the user an easy way to maintain a weblog or even a complete homepage.
Joomla - Like Drupal, might be too feature rich for the casual blogging fan - but a good engine for in depth web sites or basic blogs.
b2evolution - An old one, but still a good one - and can hold it’s own weight still with the other selections out there.
Simplog - Simple, yet powerful - the name says it all here. You want basics without the fluff - go with Simplog.
Wikiblog - This one tries to mix the blogging and wiki sides of things into an interesting mashup of content creation.
Sblog - Another one similar to WordPress, looks like it is playing catchup too. Once it gets there though, might be worthy competition.
Any other packages to add to the list?

McDonalds Free Internet Computers: Information Products and a Meal
The temperature has come down to about 90 degrees and it is feeling better. It is still hot but nothing like it was.
I was in McDonalds yesterday and they have free Internet access. I gave it a try but the ISP was down so I couldn’t get to the Internet. Bummer! It was pretty cool to see McDonalds as an ISP.
Is that a sign of things to come? Has anyone else seen a McDonalds with free Internet computers? That was a first for me. I will try to get some pictures of it and post them when I get back.
I was thinking I could have lunch and create some Information Products at the same time. They didn’t have any external ports so I couldn’t upload content or use my USB drive. I checked the case and the PC was locked in a cabinet and the manager was not letting go of the keys.
Also, I will be posting a story about a great resturant that we should have in the states. It is so cool and simple. You will love it!
Look for it when I get back and can upload some photos.

Mystery auctions are getting ridiculous (and ridiculously profitable)
Weird eBay Auctions has an interesting article on “mystery auctions”. I have never heard of these but I will definitely take a look at them.
Quite a few sellers on eBay have found a new gold mine. So much so that eBay has a whole category dedicated to this new type of auction.
Mystery auctions, which now reside in the “Everything Else” parent category, are getting bids in the thousands of dollars. And buyers don’t even know what they’re getting!
The basic premise behind a mystery auction is to create some virtual or imaginary object to “sell” to buyers. To follow eBay’s TOS, sellers must list this item for sale, whether it’s a virtual dandelion or a Wonka Bar, and suggest that:
Anything else you receive is a gift from me to you.
Time to start witting some auctions? Anyone ever try this?
Bad Behavior has blocked 771 access attempts in the last 7 days.
